Last night of Chanukah

Well, tonight was the 8th night of Chanukah, the last opportunity I had to celebrate one of my favorite Jewish holidays. And I think it was the very best nights of Chanukah I've experienced this year. ^_^ We didn't do a lot of celebrating, other than lighting the candles on the menorah every night, like we're supposed to.

We went to a party at the Town Center a couple nights ago, like we usually do, but I didn't like it all that much. The latkes (potato pancakes traditional on this holiday) weren't too good, the rabbi talked for too long, and they had this rapper who sang Chanukah related songs that I didn't get at all. =P Well, we didn't stay too long.

But anyway, about tonight. It was great! Annette and I decided that this year we would make our homemade latkes. And we did! Well, we got a good amount of help from our mom, Shira. But hey, at least she was helping us instead of us helping her. It took a long time to make all of them. Latkes take a lot of frying, you know! So I was able to sneak a good bit of reading time in. (Catching Fire, if anyone wants to know.)

When we finally got to eat them, ha ha, they were delicious! :-D Best latkes I ever ate, if I do say so myself. Already I can't wait to make them next year. ^_^ We also played a game of dreidel, which if you'll remember is a traditional spinning top game. I lost, unfortunately. Oh well. A Chanukah well spent, anyway.

Just a couple weeks to go until New Years today!!! Hee hee hee! How exciting.
